Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BabyCheck (“the App”) handles information. BabyCheck is a pregnancy and baby checklist organizer for iPhone and iPad. It is designed to keep your lists on your device — without an account.

Effective date: August 7, 2026 Last updated: August 7, 2026

1. Who we are

The App is provided by CRAFT & VALUE e.U. (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

  • App name: BabyCheck
  • Apple App Store ID: 1149307919
  • Address: Anzengruberstraße 1/4, 2540 Bad Vöslau, Austria
  • UID: ATU65036515
  • Contact: support@yaafamily.com
  • Website: https://babycheck.com/
  • Impressum: Impressum

For questions about this policy or your personal data, email us at the address above.

2. Scope

This policy covers the BabyCheck iOS / iPadOS app and this website (babycheck.com). It does not apply to third-party websites, apps, or services you may open from links inside BabyCheck (for example the App Store or destinations you choose when sharing a file).

3. No account required

BabyCheck does not require registration, login, or an email address. We do not create user accounts or collect passwords. You can download the App and use your checklists without signing up with us.

4. Information we process

4.1 Information you create in the App (stored on your device)

When you use BabyCheck, checklist content you enter or select is stored locally on your device. This may include:

  • Checklist titles, sections, items, notes, quantities, optional links, check / later status, colors, icons, and dates
  • Photos you attach to checklist items (from camera or photo library)
  • App preferences (such as theme, language, sort order, and feature toggles)
  • An optional pregnancy due date you choose to enter (used for on-device overview nudges and related features)

We do not operate a BabyCheck account server that receives this content. Your lists stay on your device unless you choose one of the optional features described below.

4.2 Optional iCloud backup

If iCloud Backup is enabled in the App and you are signed into iCloud on your Apple device, BabyCheck may copy your checklist files and item photos into the App’s private iCloud Documents container. This is intended to help you restore your lists after device loss or reinstall — not as a social or multi-user sharing service.

You can turn iCloud Backup off in the App settings. Apple provides iCloud under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Device-level iCloud Backup may also include App data if you back up your device with Apple.

4.3 Widgets, Live Activities, and local reminders

If you enable widgets, Live Activities (for example Hospital Bag progress), or local reminders, limited checklist information (such as list titles, progress counts, or next item titles) may appear on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Dynamic Island, or in local notification text. This stays on your device and is not sent to our servers. Reminders are local notifications only; BabyCheck does not use remote push notifications for this purpose.

4.4 Calendar (only if you ask)

If you choose to add a checklist item to your calendar, the App may write item details (such as title, notes, quantity, link, and list name) to the calendar on your device, using write-only calendar access. Calendar data is managed by Apple’s Calendar and your chosen calendar accounts.

4.5 Export, import, and sharing (only if you ask)

You may export a checklist as a PDF, export a ZIP backup of lists and photos, or import list files you provide. Sharing uses the system share sheet. Files leave your device only when you send them to a destination you select (for example Mail, Messages, or Files). We do not receive those exports unless you deliberately send them to us (for example by emailing support).

You may also share selected checklists with a partner through Apple iCloud (CloudKit). Invitations use Apple ID — BabyCheck does not create its own accounts. Shared list contents and item photos sync via Apple’s CloudKit for collaboration between participants you invite. This is separate from the optional private iCloud Documents backup described above.

4.6 Diagnostics and crash reports

To keep the App stable, anonymous crash and diagnostic information may be collected (for example via Firebase Crashlytics). According to our privacy declarations, this may include crash data, a device identifier used for diagnostics, and related diagnostic data. This information is not used for advertising or tracking across apps and websites, and is not linked to a BabyCheck account (the App has none).

In-app analytics collection is turned off. We do not use the App to serve third-party advertising, and we do not use App Tracking Transparency to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

4.7 Website

Our marketing website is a static site. We do not require you to create an account to browse it. Standard web server or hosting logs operated by our hosting provider may temporarily record technical data such as IP address, browser type, and requested pages, as is typical for website hosting. We do not intentionally place advertising or analytics cookies on babycheck.com for tracking purposes.

4.8 Information we do not collect

BabyCheck does not request or use:

  • Health / HealthKit data
  • Precise location
  • Contacts
  • Microphone audio
  • Advertising identifiers for tracking
  • Baby profiles or social network posts

5. Permissions the App may request

Depending on the features you use, iOS may ask for:

  • Camera — to attach a photo to a checklist item
  • Photo library — to choose an existing photo for an item
  • Calendars (write-only) — to add an item as a calendar reminder when you choose
  • Notifications — for optional local reminders you enable

You can change these permissions later in iOS Settings. Declining a permission only limits the related feature; core checklist use remains available.

6. Purposes and legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, we process personal data as follows where applicable:

  • Providing the App on your device — processing is based on performance of a contract / your request to use the App (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or our legitimate interest in offering a functional product (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Checklist content you create is primarily processed under your control on your device.
  • Optional features you enable (iCloud backup, reminders, Live Activities, calendar entries, exports) — based on your consent and/or your request to use those features (Art. 6(1)(a) and/or (b) GDPR).
  • Crash and diagnostic reports — based on our legitimate interest in maintaining App stability and security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or consent where required by applicable law or Apple platform rules.
  • Responding to support emails — based on our legitimate interest and/or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR).
  • Legal obligations — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

Checklist content may include personal planning details you choose to enter. Please do not store sensitive information you do not want on your device or in optional backups.

7. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We do not run a social feed.

Depending on how you use the App, third parties may process data as independent controllers or as service providers:

  • Apple — App Store distribution, device OS features, optional iCloud, system share destinations, and related services under Apple’s privacy policy
  • Google Firebase Crashlytics — if crash reporting is active in your build, for anonymous crash diagnostics under Google’s terms
  • Destinations you choose when exporting or sharing files (email, messaging apps, cloud storage, printers, etc.)
  • Our website host — for technical delivery of babycheck.com

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer (for example a merger), subject to applicable privacy requirements.

8. International transfers

If crash diagnostics or other service providers process data outside your country (including outside the EEA/UK), transfers are handled under the provider’s applicable safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) and platform terms. Your on-device checklist data is not uploaded to our own servers.

9. Retention

  • Checklist data, photos, and preferences remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App
  • Optional iCloud Documents copies remain until you disable the feature and/or remove the data from iCloud, subject to Apple’s retention for iCloud
  • Support emails we receive are kept only as long as needed to respond and for legitimate business or legal purposes
  • Crash logs are retained according to the crash-reporting provider’s practices

10. Your choices and controls

You can:

  • Edit or delete lists, items, and photos in the App
  • Turn off iCloud Backup, reminders, tips, or Live Activities in App settings
  • Revoke camera, photos, calendar, or notification access in iOS Settings
  • Export or delete your lists before uninstalling
  • Contact us at support@yaafamily.com with privacy questions

11. Your rights (EEA, UK, and similar laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability. Because BabyCheck stores checklist content primarily on your device (and optionally in your iCloud), the fastest way to access or delete that content is usually directly in the App or via your Apple/iCloud controls.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority where you live or work. If you contact us about rights that apply to data we hold (for example support correspondence or diagnostic records), we will respond as required by applicable law.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You may contact us to exercise applicable rights.

12. Children

BabyCheck is intended for expectant and new parents and caregivers — generally adults. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information (for example by emailing support), contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

13. Security

We design BabyCheck so checklist content stays under your control on your device and, if you enable it, in your private iCloud container. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Please protect your device with a passcode or biometrics and keep iOS up to date. If you share exports, choose trusted destinations.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App or website after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy. For material changes, we may provide additional notice in the App or on the website where appropriate.
